Came back strong to defeat Pyramid Lake 10-3

Softball Recap: Wells Leopards vs. Pyramid Lake Lakers

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wells had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Pyramid Lake Lakers. The result was nothing new for the Leopards, who have now won 19 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Khloe DelRio made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Adriana Aguilar was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Jitzel Rivas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Wells always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pyramid Lake only posted an OBP of .379.
Wells is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Pyramid Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-8.
Wells and Pyramid Lake are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Leopards will square off against Round Mountain at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.15 runs per game on average), something Wells will no doubt try to take advantage of.

Family Engagement Night at Wells High School was a huge success! We had a great turnout of families and students in grades 6–11 who came to learn about the many opportunities available at our school. Attendees explored our CTE programs, clubs, sports, mental health resources, and so much more.

National Signing Day recognizes graduating seniors who are committing to careers in the skilled trades and technical fields — similar to an athletic signing, but focused on workforce and career education opportunities.
Karely proudly signed her letter of intent with Southwestern Oregon Community College to pursue a degree in Criminology. We are proud of her hard work and excited to see all she accomplishes in the future.

Ag in the Classroom, hosted by the Starr Valley Junior Livestock Club, was a huge success at Wells Elementary School! 🐄🌾
Our students had hands-on experience learning about agriculture—from horses, goats, pigs, and cows to birds, roping, and so much more. It was a fun and educational day that brought learning to life!
